Yummy Raw Vegan Pie

Attended a great meet up cooking demo Friday night and met lots of wonderful people exploring raw foods.  Came home so motivated, made my first vegan raw pie recipe yesterday – Banana Butter Pie and everyone gave it a 10!  This recipe did not call for a crust and will add one next time.  Delish and healthy and still made sure I had only a tiny piece with calories counted.  From the book:

Weight Loss Tip #59 – Eating Better Every Day

You truly do not have to accomplish everything in one day, month or year.  One day at a time.  Find something you can improve in what you eat and make the change.  Start with the easiest changes to build up your confidence and create success.  Here are some examples:

1.  Switch from full fat dairy to low fat to non fat and do it at a pace which works for you.

2.  Begin substituting brown rice every where you would normally have white rice.

3. Instead of using white or whole wheat bread, purchase only whole grain.

4.  Substitute Equal, Splenda and Sweet N Low with Stevia.

5.  Add one additional fruit or vegetable to your meals daily.

6.  Increase the amount of water you’re drinking daily by just 8 ounces.

7.  Eliminate instant oatmeal and use long cooking instead.

8.  Buy unsweetened plain yogurt and add your own fruits and stevia to sweeten.

9.  Try Braggs Liquid Aminos instead of Soy Sauce.

10. Stick with firsts and give up seconds.

Weight Loss Tip #58 – What’s for Breakfast?

“Numerous studies show that people who eat a healthy breakfast consume a more nutritious diet and have a decreased risk of heart disease than those who either eat an unhealthy breakfast, or don’t eat breakfast at all.”

~Livestrong

What did you have for breakfast today?  Better yet, did you have breakfast at all?  A healthy breakfast fuels your body with needed nutrients and helps you to maintain a healthy body weight.

A healthy breakfast provides better concentration and productivity throughout the morning and can help lower cholesterol, which may reduce your risk of heart disease.

From the Mayo Clinic:  Here’s what forms the core of a healthy breakfast:

  • Whole grains. Options include whole-grain rolls, bagels, hot or cold whole-grain cereals, low-fat bran muffins, crackers, or melba toast.
  • Low-fat protein. Options include hard-boiled eggs, peanut butter, lean slices of meat and poultry, or fish, such as water-packed tuna or slices of salmon.
  • Low-fat dairy. Options include skim milk, low-fat yogurt and low-fat cheeses, such as cottage and natural cheeses.
  • Fruits and vegetables. Options include fresh fruits and vegetables or 100 percent juice beverages without added sugar.

“It might be the last thing on your morning to-do list. Or it might not be on your list at all. But a healthy breakfast refuels your body and jump-starts your day. So don’t overlook this important meal.”

Weight Loss Tip #57 – Astonish Yourself Today

“If we did all of the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves.”

~Thomas Edison

When is the last time you astounded yourself? Can you remember? One of the reasons we frequently give up on our weight loss efforts is we can’t do everything perfectly all at once. Well, duh. Here is a news flash. No one is perfect, seriously. That being said, all of us are capable of doing more than we are currently. What is one step you could take today which you are not doing?

The last couple of weeks I realized I was not getting in enough water and set an intention to improve. For the last four days I have drank between 80-100 ounces daily. So far today (10:43 am PT) I am at 71 ounces and that astounds me! Once we decide and set an intention, we can literally astound ourselves with what we are capable of. I am challenging you to astound yourself today and share what you did with me.

You are astounding you know!!!

The Anti-Diet Diva Unveiled

Who I am, what I do and my invitation for you to join me…

I am a weight loss and weight maintenance coach who used to call herself the Queen of the Weight Lost and Found Department.  Since I have now officially decided I will not be finding the weight I am releasing ever again I have changed my name to the Anti-Diet Diva.

As one of 40 Founding Coaches with Team Beachbody, my mission in life is to Helping Reshape the World – one body at a time (beginning with my own.)  The philosophy of Team Beachbody is very simple; eat healthy, clean foods and work out 5-6 day every week; period.  It is a simple formula which is not always easy to follow but simple in theory.

Many of us have been so conditioned to going on diets (aka deprivation for short time) we never really have understood how to reach and MAINTAIN an ideal weight long term.  Our ‘diets’ have been about getting weight off and then returning to the same habits and patterns which caused us to be overweight in the first place.

Diets do work and I have been successful at ‘losing weight’ on:

1.  Optifast

2.  Jenny Craig

3.  Nutrisystem

4.  Weight Watchers

5.  Atkins

6.  Lindora

7.  Horse urine shot diet (ick when I think back on this one especially)

I actually reached my goal weight one or more times with each of the above.  And there are many more I tried for a while, lost pounds and then quit.  Sadly and yet not surprisingly I have always gained all of the lost pounds back and they have brought their friend along with them.

This is why I am now the Anti-Diet Diva.  Successful weight loss as we all know is not about going on a diet and then stopping.  The process of being healthy goes on every day.  The only stopping point would be the same point as when we stop breathing.  And keeping breathing was the reason I stopped dieting and starting creating health in my life on a daily basis.

Becoming a Team Beachbody Coach was the most significant step I have ever taken in my journey to be a permanent normal weight person.  When coaching and supporting others to get healthy; it would be kind of hypocritical to be eating a greasy hamburger and French fries.

When asked what the benefits of being a coach my top three reasons are:

~The personal accountability for achieving and maintaining my own health and fitness goals!

~The incredible satisfaction of supporting someone else in achieving their goals!

~And oh yeah, I get paid for it!

If you want to Get Healthy Again in 2010, there are several ways for us to team up and do this together.

1.  Join my team of Beachbody Coaches:  Great accountability for your personal journey and you do not have to be at your ideal weight.  I have found being on my way really creates creditability for what I am teaching.  You do not need to be an expert in nutrition or fitness either; as coaches we are there to motivate and support our clients.  And you can become a Team Beachbody Coach and create an additional income stream for yourself for as little as $39.95.

2.  Become a Preferred Customer and receive 25% off on all products, enjoy all the benefits of being a coach and receive a 25% commission on all sales from your personal web site.

3.  Join my Beachbody Club which gives you tons of additional support and weight loss resources on the web site for $2.99 weekly!  When you work out, you are automatically entered into the daily prize drawing.

3.  Include the Healthiest Meal of the Day in your food plan daily.  Join Shakeology and purchase via auto ship and all shipping will be free and you get the 30 minute and 50 minute workout included with your first shipment.  As a preferred customer this whole food meal costs you $3.00 daily.

4. WOWY (Work Out With Me) in our online virtual super gym. Sign up to be a free player and you have the chance to win prizes every day just for working out and have me as your personal Team Beachbody Coach.

For more info on any of these options please email me at judi@helpingreshapetheworld.com and help me reshaping the world one body at a time starting with ours!

Please join me!!!!

The Anti-Diet Diva,

Judi

Who’s Got Your Back?

From Spark People for January 7th

“Enlist a diverse support system instead of just one buddy.  These people should be encouraging or knowledgeable in helpful ways, whether swapping healthy recipes, exercising with enthusiasm or sharing weight loss tips.”

T. E. A. M.

Together everyone achieves more and building a weight loss support team can be a winning strategy for your journey.  Last year I created The Healthy Breakfast Club calls as a way to give me daily accountability and the results have been amazing.  I hired a food coach to help me clean up my eating and lost 5.2 pounds while on vacation in Costa Rica and learned about Coconut Water.  Kristen, one of the Beachbody Coaches on my team has a master degree in Exercise Physiology and she helps me with my workout questions and aches and pains.  As a weight loss coach, I support people in setting goals and taking steps every day.  Who can you pick to be on your success team?

Weight Loss Tip #4 – Kitchen Kleen-Up

You are so excited about your new healthy commitment, to eat right, move more and take better care of yourself.  A big component of success is being prepared (and yes I was a Brownie and a Girl Scout.)  Have you gone through your kitchen and removed all of the items which would not be part of your plan?  Some examples could be:

1.  Products containing partially hydrogenated oil

2.  Canned soups high in sodium

3.  Cookie dough ice cream

4.  Extra butter microwave popcorn

You get the idea.  Having these things around creates an atmosphere which in not congruent with your attitude.  And in-congruency creates friction.  So grab a big bad and see how much you can get rid of and that is only part one .

Creating a healthy lifestyle is different than going on a diet.  Remember diets are about deprivation.  We don’t like to feel deprived.  So after you have removed those things which aren’t are your healthy choice list, restock with things which support you.  Examples could include:

1.  Raw Almonds

2. Organic  Peanut Butter

3.  Extra Virgin Olive Oil

4.  Fresh fruit and vegetables

If your spices are old, throw them out and replace them with fresh spices and arrange them so they are easily found.  Re-arrange your pantry and your refrigerator so when you open the doors, it looks inviting and healthy choices abound!

Get started on your kitchen kleen-up today!
