Beachbody is More Than P90X

Beachbody is much more than P90X, even if that has been the number one infomercial in the country for the past 16 months! When I tell people I am a Coach with Team Beachbody, often that ask what that is. When I mention P90X, Insanity, Turbo Jam, Chalene Extreme etc it always rings a bell.

Every Sunday evening at 6PM PT I am holding a short telephone information call for you to learn more about Beachbody and what we offer. I will answer all of your questions and share why I am so excited about Helping Reshape the World!

Examples of what we will covering include:

~Preferred Customer Program
~Becoming a Coach
~What is Shakeology and the Shakeology Sweepstakes
~How do I log my workouts into WOWY and qualify for the daily drawing
~What is included in the Beachbody Club Membership
~And any other questions you might have.

We will be creating a specific number for this call we will post. However for this week please send an email to judi@shakethefatoff.com With RSVP Sunday Info Meeting if you would like to join us and we will send you the information to get onto the call!

Weight Loss Lessons

From Spark People for January 31st

“Congratulations!  You have worked hard for an entire month to help make your dreams a reality.  By now, you are well on the way to achieving all of your goals.  Use what you’ve learned here to keep going and set new goals in the future.”

What I have learned this month:

1.  I did not give up when the only weight loss on the scale the entire month was .2 pounds.

2.  I learned I can increase my exercise a lot and still not lose weight as quickly as I would like.

3.  I learned it is ok to take my time and do it right and be proud of myself every day.

4.  I learned I can walk up the stairs at Carlsbad State Beach (4 times.)

5.  I learned I can eat healthy and clean while camping and sleeping in a tent.

6.  I learned there are so many wonderful people for me to be inspired by just by looking for them and asking for their support

7.  I learned it is really not a good idea to do the treadmill barefooted.

8.  I learned from Power 90 I really like doing weights.  Did I really just say that?

9.  I learned I can work through pain, not die and be glad I did.

10.  I learned there is so much more for me to learn.

What did you learn about yourself and your weight loss journey in January?

Weight Loss the Smart Weigh…

From Spark People for January 24th

“Do less. Bombarding yourself with too many goals can be stressful. The more items you focus on, the more each task suffers from a lack of priority, attention and accuracy. Whittle down your to-do list to focus on what is really important.”

And I can already hear you saying, ‘it’s all important” and yes it is; just not at once. When I first begin coaching a new client on weight loss, their tendency is to want to change everything they are doing – at once!

What makes me a good coach is I have been there and done everything each of my clients has and I know what works and what doesn’t on a long term basis. For example, a client may be drinking no water and set their first goal for 80 ounces a day. Our extra weight was not built in a day and neither was Rome. We will not lose all the weight we want, once we decide it is time.  It will take time to change our habits, one step at a time. I asked my client for one week to concentrate on drinking 8 ounces of water daily. When she said that did not seem like much, I shared it was 100% more than she was drinking right now.

We are on a journey to reach and MAINTAIN our ideal diet; not on a race to a diet finish line where we just go back to all of our old habits. Take it one step, one day, one pound or one ounce at a time.

Make Time for Weight Loss

From Spark People for January 23rd

“Make yourself a priority.  You do a lot for others, but tend to neglect yourself.  Give yourself the care, attention and love you need.  Your goals are important and you deserve to take time for yourself in each day in order to achieve them.”

Often I had found in the past I’d booked my daily schedule so tight with back to back appointments there was no time for me.  No time to work out, journal, read a personal development book, create a meal plan etc.  We will not be much good to others when we are not taking care of our self.

Sometimes, people struggle with the feeling by doing this they are being selfish.  We have been so conditioned to think of others and not ourselves that reasonable self care feels selfish.  It is not selfish.  Not caring for yourself and being grouchy or tired all the time will have more of a negative impact on the people around you.

What time do you have slotted for you today?

What New Skill Can Support Your Weight Loss?

From Spark People for January 22nd

“Learn something new which inspires you.  If you want to quit smoking, for example, read about successful quitters whose lives have improved or about how smoking affects your health.  Find new, specific tips for your current stage.”

As I strive to become more and healthier I have become interested in raw foods.  I have been to a couple of raw food restaurants and very much enjoyed the food.  However, I know nothing about preparing them.

I know in my cache of over 1,000 Vegetarian cookbooks, I have at least a couple on raw food.  I also have a friend in England who is a raw food expert.  Perhaps I will take some of her teleclasses.  I know learning new things always stimulates my excitement and motivation.

What would you like to learn about which would support your weight loss goals?

P.S.  I was getting ready to post this and checked emails real quickly.  Hello!!! I had an invitation to attend a raw foods radio show.  All you have to do is decide and the universe gets to work making it happen.  I love how that works…Woo Hoo.

Visualize Your Weight Loss Journey Complete

From Spark People for January 20th

“Visualize.  Sit comfortably, breathing deeply with your eyes closed. Envision yourself reaching that goal.  How has your life changed?  How does it feel to accomplish it?  Picture all the steps you took to reach that point and believe in yourself.”

In September of 2008 we spent a week with our best friends at June Lake in the Eastern Sierras.  It was beautiful and every morning when we woke we would see deer walking by our trailer and the stars at night were amazing.  Nothing like you see here in San Diego, CA.  Loved our trip, but….

I was not at a healthy weight, about 50 pounds heavier than I am right now and was not able to do all of the activities everyone else did.  The one I missed the most was a hike everyone else took on the Ansel Adams Wilderness Trail up a mountain to Parker Lake.  I heard it was breath taking since I would not know personally.

This September, we are spending another week at the same place.  I am down 50 pounds and know I will have lost even more by then and be in better shape from regular exercise.  There is another hike to The Pie Lady (don’t ask me) and I intend on being there every step of the way this time.

Pick something you will do when you are at your healthy weight and imagine every piece of it right now.  Make it real.

The two most important things to remember when choosing wisely are to eat whole foods and choose the carbohydrates which have the least amount of sugar.

Know Your Friends and Your Enemies

From Spark People for January 16th

“Avoid saboteurs.  People will try to persuade you to go against your plan, whether they feel guilty themselves or just jealous of you.  Ignore them.  Share your goals with positive people and stay away from these topics around the negative ones.”

You become the average of the 5 people you hang around with is what I always told my kids as they were growing up.  Your environment, including the friends you spend time with DOES have an impact on your success!

Someone who I know that has been very successful in losing weight was expressing to her friend how good she was feeling about her weight loss.  The ‘friend’ replied, “Don’t kid yourself, you are still fat.”  I suggested this person might not be quite the friend they thought they were.  Comments like that do nothing to move us forward in our journey to achieve and maintain your ideal weight.

If you have people in your life that are not supportive and excited about what you are doing, either limit your time with them if possible.  If they are someone in your immediate family or work space where avoidance is not possible, keep your conversations away from hot spots.

We all recognize how important our self thoughts are and what we might not know is how important what others say affect us!!!

Choose your friends wisely, know who they are and appreciate them for all they do to support you.

Making Adjustments…

From Spark People for January 15th

“You’re halfway there!  Look back on your progress and re-evaluate your goals.  Are you on track with your timeline?  Is your goal still as important?  Are you motivated?  Make changes to your goals; if necessary, to keep the momentum going strong.”

I am motivated and my goal becomes more important to me everyday.  However, I am not on track with my timeline.  With my new excel spread sheet which tracks calories burned I am behind in what I need to reach my goal.  So this weekend, I will walk a lot and go up and down the stairs at the beach to regain some ground.

Because my calorie deficit is fixed by what I need, the exercise needs to be kicked up a notch.  Where do you need to make an adjustment in your plan?
